I don't know, I just love jokes involving bees. And Sherlock was a bee-keeper! IT MAKES KIND OF SENSE.

Sherlock was totes not interested in women, therefore he either wasn't interested in anyone or he was GAY FOR WATSON. I prefer the latter supposition as it explains his protectiveness of the good Doctor and his inclination to come into physical contact with his companion whenever possible. Conan Doyle was quite the progressive, it's not too much of a stretch to believe.
