The spirit of Lake Superior/Gitchigumee (sp?). I thought of this while listening to Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"
Lake Superior is a very dangerous place at certain times of year. The literary and artistic applications of this have not been adequately explored. It's one of the only naturally occurring things in America with any sort of mystique whatsoever, in my opinion.
I tried to give her some native aspects, but she isn't supposed to belong to a specific people, and she has fishing lines and boat ropes about her because of all the wrecks.

I think I had a spiritual encounter with something like this one night sitting on the shore of Lake Superior. The person I saw did not look like this, but I'm glad to see someone has drawn something close to what I saw.
